Sat’s Caramel Corn

Posted in corazón y amor on January 31, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

Terence booked out in the morning today. Met him at Yishun. Bought food from the Food court and went over to his place to have lunch. Helped him unpacked his soiled clothes, did some laundry and cleaned his room! Moments later, his mum came back home from work. Left his house in the evening. As promised, he brought me to Sembawang Shopping Centre. We walked around and the only store which excite me was “Daiso”. We got a packet of caramel corn. Omg, you should try one yourself. Very tasty!

For dinner, we went to one of the coffeshops situated around the area. I had mee goreng with egg and he had nasi ayam goreng. On top of that, ordered a few sticks of satay. Dinner was definitely filling!

I enjoyed my day so much. I’m glad we spent the day around heartland area. Once in a while, not being in town during the weekends spells out S-P-L-E-N-D-I-D!

Close to a minute

I’m feeling very tired. Projects, projects, projects. I can’t wait for all of it to be OVER. At night, went over to Maggie’s place for “Gong Xi Fa Cai”. It was pretty fun. Played blackjack all night. I’m still a blur cock at counting. Whats 2+10+4+3? Yeah, it will take me close to a minute to figure that one.Ok Maggie, here is your moment :)

circo y payaso

Posted in con la pandilla on January 28, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

Maggie drove me to school today. I told her, “Wah! Now so many roadworks sia.” And she said, “Ya. They are building the circus line.” Upon hearing that, i burst out laughing and i cant stop imagining clowns with red noses. It was damn funny.

Actually she meant “circles” line. But “circles” sounded like “circus”. But still, it was funny.

Happy Chinese New Year

In the afternoon, went visit my grandma at my cousin’s place. I was feeling rather sleepy that i fell asleep after eating a plate of mee goreng. In the evening, met Terence. Went to his uncle’s house for house visiting. Had a late dinner with him and his cousins. Stayed there for awhile before rushing off to meet Maggie and Zac at AMK Hub. The place was flooded with movie goers.

Bought tickets to a 2:00 AM show. Since we had time to wander elsewhere, Maggie drove us to Mustafa Centre to shop for household stuffs. Zac went missing for awhile and he returned back with a basket which had a insect repellent and other miscellaneous stuffs! Didn’t know he would be interested in household stuffs! Next time, all of us should walk around again for hours and have thosai after that! When it was almost time to get our asses back to AMK Hub for our show, we were in a rush when we had to experience a roadblock.

We were eating chewing gum when a policeman stopped the car and asked Maggie to wind down her windscreen. It was funny. he said, “Good morning. Did you consume any alcoholic drinks?” and guess what Zac did? He did let out a “aah aah”, letting the policeman smell his minty breath just to convince the policeman that we don’t have a smell of alcohol under our breath. Very funny.

Then, the policeman asked, “Where are you heading to?” Maggie honestly answered, “We’re going to AMK Hub to watch a movie.” As soon as i heard that, i laughed my ass off. Damn funny. I guess the policeman wanted to know our next destination as in which part of Singapore are we heading to. Instead, Maggie told him the place and the acivity. So funny. That was a very honest reply :)

Alright, “The Wedding Game” sucks. I regret watching it. I kept yawning and i almost fell asleep. Got back home at almost 6:00 AM.

Talking tummy

Posted in corazón y amor on January 25, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

Met Terence for dinner. Went to KFC and I made sure he finished his meal. Seriously, he looks skinny now. During his field camp, he managed to survive a week only on biscuits and raisins because he didn’t like the ration food. So poor thing! Total weight loss? 10 KG! While he is losing weight, i am putting on weight. Omg, i have to stop being so greedy.

My new haircolour looks wild, eh?

Poor Baby

Posted in como le va el trabajo, corazón y amor on January 25, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

I waited the whole day to hear from him. I was feeling so excited that i kept waking up in between my sleep just to check my phone if he had called or messaged me. All was in vain. No messages. No calls. I waited and waited till afternoon.

By then, my supervisor called me and asked me if i could work. i agreed since i had nothing else better to do. At around 8:00 PM, he finally messaged me and told me that he’ll be booking out soon. Yeah, that late. I end work at around 9:00 PM. Guess what time he booked out? At around 10 plus! I took a train down to Yishun and waited for him till like 11:00 PM. When i saw him getting out of the cab, i almost shed a tear when i saw how skinny he was. Poor baby! Accompanied him back to his place. Helped him with the laundry. He bathed, got changed and we left his place for supper. Both of us were feeling really hungry and greedy at the same time. We ordered like 3 dishes with rice and satay. Eventually, we had too much to eat that we couldn’t finish up what we ordered. Sat, talked and left the place at abut 3 plus in the morning. It was great to finally see him again.

After school, Maggie came over to my place to dye our hair. Yeah, i know what you might be thinking. “Oh no, not again?”

After we dyed our hair, we tried on mask on our faces. I took my nail polish and painted her toe nails. Its RED now! It was so funny. haha :)

6 bottles of high hopes

Posted in con mis muchachas on January 22, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

I skipped school again. I didn’t set the alarm and i overslept. Was at home the whole day cleaning the house like a part-time maid. In the evening, Kim and Bernice came over to my place to dye hair. We were being a cheapo when we bought 4 bottles of dye for $7.40 each. Turned out, the quality of the so-called-cheapo dye was crap – Not effective and energy wasting. We then rushed to the nearest store to get 2 more bottles of “trust able” dyes and in total, we ended up with 6 bottles of hair dye.

Our hair colour looked like typical ah lian. Damn funny. We kept laughing at each other. Luckily, i found some black dye at home. Its almost 3:00 AM now and i am still trying to somehow “fix” the hair colour. Kim dyed her hair reddish purple. Both of us hope it will turn out right because we still have school later!!

Undivided distance

Terence had to do guard duty today. Although i don’t get to see him today, i’m really grateful that he constantly calls me to keep me company through the day.

In a way, talking to him all day had already made me feel near to him.

1% out of 100

Woke up really late. Was supposed to meet the girls at around 12:30 PM. But, guess what time i reached? At 4:00 PM. Worse, i lacked the motivation to study. Eventually, i just sat there talking and crap kept flowing out of my mouth. About 2 hours later, i was bored of reading the notes that i packed my stuffs and asked Bernice to go shopping! At the end of the day, i only did 1% of revision.

While others are doing their revisions, what am i doing? 7 words – NOTHING!

Spaces in between us

Posted in viviendo una vida on January 15, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

Went for elective class today. Today’s lesson was about proxemics.

In non-verbal communication, the “space” around you is known as proxemics. When a person invades your “space,” you either move away from them or allow them to be close to you.
There are 4 types of space:

Public Space: This area goes about 12-25 feet away from you.

Social space: This area goes about 4-12 feet away from you. This space is for interactions with someone who is not particularly well known to you.

Personal space: This area goes about 18 inches-4 feet away from you. This space is for interactions with people you know well, such as those whom you know relatively well.

Intimate space: The personal “bubble” where only the closest to us are allowed to enter. This area goes out to about 18 inches away from you. This space is for your most intimate interactions with people. This includes kissing, hugs, whispers and close conversation, and intimate types of touch.

The type of space you use depends on the person you are interacting with. So, if i happen to move away from you someday, you’ll probably know that i’m maintaining public space and i dont want you to be too near to me.

How informative!

Last day of relief teaching at the Secondary School. Marked some worksheets, left a note on the teacher’s table and made my way to Dover for school. Finally, almost all of the reports are in for submission. Another 2 reports are due for submission next Friday. At least, i can catch up on my sleep now and continue worrying about the remaining reports on another day.

After school, went to Foodcourt 5 with Bernice, Rachel and Kim. Being girls, we had so much to talk about, so much lame jokes to share, a whole lot of laughter and silliness. 2 years together – how time flies! Before you know it, all of us will be wearing our gowns, holding a diploma in our hands and wishing each other all the best for our future endeavors. I enjoyed staying in school till late evening, laughing my hearts out and being with you girls. Different classes or not, we’ll find time for each other.

I’m awfully tired. Its been days i sleep late from rushing projects and waking up really early for relief teaching. Stayed in school till about 8:30 PM doing project. Apart from all those stress, i had so much fun and laughter with my project group members.

Relief teaching was fun. I told a joke to the class about Maggie. (Sorry Maggie, but it was really funny! I cant stop thinking about it.) Yesterday, while doing project, Maggie said “Hey, that thing looks cricket.” I asked her, “Huh? What cricket?”

Well, actually, she wanted to say ‘crooked’, but she said ‘cricket’ instead. So, i told my students, “Arrange those ‘cricket’ tables, can?” haha. Funny right? :)

HAPPY 22ND BIRTHDAY TERENCE

Posted in alfabeto, escuela on January 5, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

You’re my 22 year old baby dinosaur! haha.

I was almost late for my relief teaching duty today and i almost miss flag raising ceremony! I’m supposed to take over the duties of a form teacher for a week. So, i have to be in school early to mark the class attendance. When i got to the parade square, one of the teachers was there to help me with the class attendance. Thankfully! Anyway, i’ve got to teach both Elementary Maths and Additional Maths for a week. I cant believe i stayed in the staff room for 2 hours practicing maths questions because my brain got a little rusty after 5 years of not doing algebra and factorisation. Overall, work was great.

After work, i took the bus to school. Actually, i was supposed to attend lectures from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM but i skipped lectures to complete PDWM report with my group members. I went back at around 8:30 PM! Very tired.

Morning curly fries!

Posted in escuela on January 4, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

Almost 3:30 AM now. Just reached home from supper and PDWM project discussion at Farhan’s place. We stayed up and did project discussions till almost 2:00 AM. Hours later, we were feeling hungry. Maggie drove us to the nearest McDonald’s and we had lots of nuggets and golden curly fries for supper. Can you believe this? During the first 2 weeks when Terence was enlisted for National Service, i was feeling so sad that i lost a total of 4kg. Now, i am back to my original weight after eating like a glutton for days. I

‘m off to sleep now. I need a good rest. Take care babies.
