You win some and you loose some

When you lose weight, assets shrink

I found these on various columns. All were answering to the same question: “When you lose weight, what part of your body do you notice it from first?

“My face is noticeable thinner. Also, I have lost a lot in my boobs! I’m quite sad about that really, I loved them!!!!”

“I’m right there with some of you ladies, I loose my in my boobs… It’s never the actual places you want to loose it from first… That’s just how it works I guess… You win some and you loose some…”

“When I lost my weight it was face, boobs, belly and ass – not in order. I don’t know but it all happened.”

“Mine has come off my face and waist first, but just below my ribcage, which makes my hips look very disproportionate. Anyone else look like a little head on a big body?”

“First to thin out was my cheeks and my nose (some how my nose got thinner). Then i lost my stomach but not my hips… so i look disproportionate”

“Well, apparently mine came off my ass…. My mother started saying that I have a flat ass”

“My face loses weight pretty quick which is weird because i have a really small face. when i lose weight there, i look sick.”

Conclusion? When you lose weight, you may lose your assets. Smaller boobs or butt. I’m beginning to think that toning up would be better. Its like sculpturing. haha.

Get me yellow balls

I need to blend lemons using the fruit blender to get pure lemon juice!

I’ve read that lemon juice is good for skin and health! You can either apply lemon juice onto your skin or drink it. Both will help you externally and internally.

Lemon juice contains one of the Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) which is citric acid. It helps the skin to rejuvenate, flake off old skin and grow new skin. It improves the skin’s metabolism, takes care of excessively oily skin, flushes out pores and keeps your skin feeling fresh. Lemon juice can also be used to generally bleach the skin and make it lighter in colour.

You can use the lemon juice remedy for internal cleansing or detoxifying of the liver and for absorption of important minerals and vitamins.

For better skin and health, i’m going to drink lemon juice! On top of that, i’m determined to skip at least 300 times per day with my skipping rope. I’m determined to do stomach crunches. I’m determined to have at least 8 hours of sleep and drink plenty of plain water.

Sounds impossible?

Hope not.

Watch me do it. Its an investment baby. Instead of investing money, i’ll invest efforts.

OMG, i think i am desperate.

24 hours away from home

24 hours away from home. This post is going to be a long one.

On Friday night, met Fatty and others at Arab Street. We talked and talked till it was almost 4 in the morning. Thanks to the ghost stories they shared, i was scared to go home alone. Luckily, fatty asked if i would like to sleepover. I went with the idea and took a cab to Fatty’s house. I didn’t know i wasn’t going home, so i only had a bag of cosmetics with me. Thankfully fatty lend t-shirt and shorts for sleeping. We slept and woke up at noon. Bathed and left Fatty’s house in the afternoon.

Had lunch with boyfriend before going to SMU for a skincare workshop. We were supposed to do some “practical”, so they require us to wash our faces to remove our make up. I refused to do so because i already had concealer covering the dark spots on my face. If i wash it off, everyone will be able to see how obvious they are. So, i ask boyfriend to wash his face and try the products. It was funny. He tried the foam wash, powder lotion, moisturizer and the and nose pore pack. We learned about the proper way of skincare. It was informative and i  am feeling more motivated now to take good care of my skin!

At the end of the workshop, we were required to do a catwalk and strike a pose to show our confidence. Teenage magazine was there too. The winner with the most confidence will win a photo shoot with Teenage Magazine. Boyfriend was paisey to do so. It was funny. When it came to our turn to do the catwalk, boyfriend and i said, “No thanks.”

After the workshop, boyfriend had the enthusiasm to shop. We went to Marks & Spencer. He kept walking around the food section in circles before deciding on biscuits and cans of mushroom soup. We then went on searching for a pair of new sandals because he kept bugging me to get new ones. I was wearing a pair of sandals with broken straps, using only safety pins to secure the straps together. I really love the ones at Charles & Keith… but, it looked weird on my feet. We gave up looking for sandals and took a train back to Ang Mo Kio.

Dinner was at Pizza Hut. We ate till our fill before buying movie tickets to the show ‘The Uninvited’. While waiting for the show to start, we walked around searching for sandals again. I finally found one that i liked. Boyfriend bought for me and i immediately threw the old pair away.

Remember i told you i bought new bedsheets last month. It was incomplete because i didnt have a bolster. Well, boyfriend bought a bolster for me too! It was funny. We went to the cinema with the bolster. I think the couple next to us was laughing at us. But, hey, we dont care. It was comfortable watching a movie with a bolster. The show was awesome! Unexpected ending and some scenes were really scary.

Phew! I finally finished this post.

Sweatless Dreams

Lots of congratulations to myself. I was able to withstand almost a week at work without falling asleep on my desk. Want to know my secret? Easy. GET ENOUGH SLEEP! The answer is obvious, isn’t it?

Anyway, i read some articles about weight loss through sleeping! Oh yes, you heard it right! You get to lose weight just by sleeping. The minimum amount of sleep you need for weight loss is seven and a half hours a night. Those who sleep less per night would generally weigh more. Its been scientifically proven  with results from real life experiments. So, there’s no reason for not believing it.

Stop playing with your paper aeroplane at night. Go grab your bolster and start drooling on it.

What a bitch

Scars are is a commonly heard complaint among people of all ages. Pimples can be a real bitch and scars caused by the pimples can be really  depressing. Studies have proven that scars can cause lack of confidence, stress and low self esteem. Generally, pimples should not cause scarring. If you pick, squeeze or irritate a pimple, it can permanently damage your skin which can eventually lead to scarring.  Here are some alternatives i found over the net which can help to naturally remove or lighten pimple scars.

Alternative 1:

Use skin lightening products. Look for ingredients such as Licorice Extract, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Lemon Juice Extract and Vitamin C.

Alternative 2:

Believe it or not – Massaging scars with a bit of baking soda and water can remove scar tissues. Baking soda is a common ingredient for treatments as  it exfoliates the top layers of the skin. Massage the scar with baking soda for at least one minute, twice daily. Rinse with warm water and then apply a light layer of olive oil to help rejuvenate the tissue.

Alternative 3:

Apply bleaching cream to your pimple scars. Pimple scars feature darker pigmentation than surrounding areas. Bleaching creams will lighten the scars so they better blend in with the surrounding skin.

Alternative 4:

Exfoliate the area at least twice weekly.. Use a facial scrub to exfoliate the area. Exfoliation encourages cell turnover so new skin cells more rapidly replace the damaged, scarred skin cells.

Alternative 5:

Use a scar treatment cream on your pimple scars. These creams are available  to gradually fade scars.

Alternative 6:

Try products that contain hydroxy acids. These acids aid in skin cell regeneration and with regular use can make pimple scars less noticeable. Hydroxy acids can be found in a variety of skin care products, such as cleansers, serums and lotions.

Alternative 7:

Massage your pimple scars. Massage encourages circulation so blood and nutrients can more readily reach the scarred area. In addition, massage helps to break up scar tissue.

Alternative 8:

Consume a healthy diet, rich in vitamins and antioxidants. If you are poorly nourished, your skin will not be able to heal itself properly and your scars will be harder to remove.

Have you decided on an alternative? Well, best of luck and happy trying.

I finally had it all figured out. One thing i dislike about WordPress is that i cant place a tagboard on the page itself. To solve this problem, i crated a link to the tagboard that i was previously using. Now, you can leave a message instantly by clicking on “leave a message”.

For those of you who are dying to place a tagboard on your site, you can do so. Go to www.cbox.ws to create one. If you already have an existing account, copy the link instead of copying the html code. Then, sign in to wordpress to add the link.

Yes, it is that simple. Go try!!

Do you love using concealer to cover your ugly pimples? Did it make your pimples worse? Did it make the pimple area more oily? Are you using the right type of concealer? Think again.

I don’t really fancy using make up. One reason is, i feel that my skin is getting suffocated under all those layers of powder or foundation. Same thing goes for concealer. Whenever i use concealer to cover acne on my face, i feel kind of “guilty”. Am i making the acne worse by applying and covering it with a concealer? And the answer: It is always a yes.

If you are experiencing the same problem as i am, i suggest, you get a medicated concealer. Yes, there is such a thing as medicated concealer and it may even cost more than a normal concealer.

Medicated concealers are designed specifically for acne sufferers. It can be oil-free and the medicated formula allows you to heal your blemishes as you cover them, providing a 2-in-1 solution.

You get to conceal spots, blemishes and scars while correcting them, so people see you, not your flaws! Sounds terrific, doesn’t it?

Squeeky clean

Posted in cuidado on March 2, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

I used to buy those cream cleanser which helps to exfoliates and whitens the skin. I thought that the same cleanser would help to remove dirt, oil and pimples at the same time. But I was wrong! Different types of facial products have different types of uses. So, you cant assume that one facial product would do the  cleaning, moisturizing and everything for you.

I just bought a range of facial products for myself. This is my first time buying different kinds of facial products for different kind of uses. I used to buy only one and hope it will do the job for me. Now i understand why they come up with different types of products. I guess each type is specifically designed for a specific use.

Recently, i wanted to get a normal facial wash which helps to remove dirt and oil from the skin. I thought buying one normal cleanser would help to prevent and treat acne, but i was wrong! A normal cleanser would removes dirt and oil but wouldn’t necessary help to treat acne. To treat acne, i’ve got to get another kind of facial wash which would specifically do that. That’s when i end up getting an oil-free acne wash too! As you know, oily areas are usually the T-zone area where acne usually breaks out.  One good thing about getting an oil-free wash is that it will not cause the oily area to be more oily. It will removes oil from the oily areas and treats the acne at the same time.

I also bought a fresh foaming cleanser which removes dirt, oil and make-up. I would now use the foaming cleanser first to remove make up from my skin. After that, i would use the acne wash to clean the oily/T-zone areas on my skin.

Both are oil-free, alcohol free and cleans without causing irritant or over-drying to the skin. So, its perfect for sensitive skin too.

Right now, i always get that squeeky clean and refreshing feeling when i get to bed. Next on my list, i’m going to get a toner!

I'm a combination of both

Posted in cuidado on March 1, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

I just learn something. All skin types needs a different skin care regime.

Girls, you should really read this. If you’re experiencing break outs and always wonder why some products are too dry or too bad for your skin, i hope it will be of some help to you!

Knowing the skin type is the most important thing when it comes to caring about the skin. Without knowing your skin type, you might choose and use the wrong products on it. For example, if you have an oily skin and you keep on applying oil-based cream on your skin, your skin will definitely break acne and pimples! So, the first step to skin care is to know the type of skin you have. There are few types of skin – normal skin, oily skin, dry skin and a combination of oily and dry skin.

My skin type? A combination! Sometimes it may be oily, sometimes it may be dry. Sometimes, it is oily around nose area and dry around the cheeks and mouth area. My T-zone area is my forehead and it always gets so oily after hours of washing.

I used apply the same product on my entire skin. But it was only recently that i made a switch to this routine after knowing the correct way of taking care a combination skin type.

When applying moisturizing cream at night, i will moisturize my oily areas to a minimum. I apply more on the drier areas and lesser on the oily areas. In that way, i am able to moisturize the drier areas and prevent acne from breaking out on the oily/T-zone parts of my skin.

I just bought an oil-free acne wash for acne treatment. It is perfect for the oily parts of my skin but bad for the dry parts of my skin. The oil free will make the drier parts of my skin drier but it will make the oily parts less oily. So What should i do? Apply thoroughly on drier areas. Massage and apply firmly on the oily areas. In that way, the facial wash can effectively treat acne on the oily areas without drying the dry areas badly.

When using a facial scrub, i used to apply it on my entire face and experience dry skin at some areas the next day. So now, i would preferably scrub more on the oily/T-zone areas and very little on the dry areas. In this way, i would clear the pore-clogging residue on the oily parts and also do that on the drier parts without drying it.

I’ve found out my skin type and buying the right types of skincare products. Have you find out yours? If you haven’t, you’ve got to do so!

GO GO GO!
