Revive the long gone

Posted in viviendo una vida on May 27, 2011 by Nina Lareina Adam

I was daydreaming when I suddenly remembered this page where most of my memories were being written. All the years that went by, I smiled silly as i read each post. I’m glad to have my years spent with the same bunch of people who are always there for me, the way I am.

The truth

Posted in en una palabra on July 27, 2010 by Nina Lareina Adam

Lying next to you
Wishing I could disappear..
Let you fall asleep
And vanish out into thin air..

Trying to be perfect
Trying not to let you down…
Honesty is honestly the hardest thing for me right now…
While the floors underneath our feet are crumbling
The walls we built together tumbling
I still stand here holding up the roof
Cause it’s easier than telling the truth.

Not much in my hands

Posted in viviendo una vida on May 1, 2010 by Nina Lareina Adam

WOO! 2 months of not updating this space.  Hello, MAY 2010! I’ve been really busy, eh.

Ever since i started working, i haven’t had much time in my hands! Sometimes, i work late and by the time i got home, i’m more interested to jump on my bed than to do anything else. Often, i’ll be at the office skipping dinner and by the time i got home from work i would be so damn hungry! Dinner was like supper and after a meal, i’ll usually fall asleep on a full stomach. So, don’t be surprised if you see me getting fat! I haven’t been exercising too! Urgh. However, working late has its own benefits. When i looked at my pay slip the other day, i like what i see. I guess, that’s the only advantage. Its going to be 2 months. 2 months working a full-time job. Wow, that fast? Yes, and with a hectic schedule, i find myself gliding through time at a very fast pace.

17 more days to graduation and i can’t wait to meet the greatest people i know in school. I miss school. Those times when i would come an hour late for a 2 hour lecture, sleeping throughout lecture and waking up with an empty brain, sitting around the food court laughing my heart out with friends and not forgetting those late nights in school doing projects. Thinking about school made me miss school even more. No matter how much i used to hate the exams and the amount of projects given, i went through it with a group of people whom made it all easier.

I’m excited. I’m opening a new chapter, with a whole new beginning. Wish me luck :)

I should be studying for my final paper right now. But i just got back from dinner with my awesome girl friend! We went for a 3 course dinner at Marriot Hotel. Started the dinner at 6.30 p.m. and ended at around 10.00 p.m. Each course took us about an hour to finish! Looks can be deceiving. The serving may be small but it was enough to make our stomach reach its maximum capacity.  We were almost on the verge of letting everything out! The creme brulee was nice!

One too many mornings

I haven’t been updating this space religiously for months. And now, its 2010 already. I wonder if anyone would even read this since the blog would have long been considered dead. All those months have passed and guess what? I’m going to graduate from school soon. In fact, 3 years of school life went by just like that! and today, the boy and i celebrated our third Valentines day.

Welcomed the morning of Valentines Day, morning of Chinese New Year and morning of the year of the Tiger at Arab Street with Liyanah and Wei Lie. It was a day with too many mornings.

At about 3 in the morning, we bid farewell to the other couple and went separate ways. I was hungry. So, we went to McDonalds for breakfast. Hotcakes with butter and MILO was great! Got home at about 5 in the morning. While everyone is up to celebrate the festive holiday, i’m going to spend mine by sleeping! Sweet dreams for now.

The process

Posted in viviendo una vida on January 20, 2010 by Nina Lareina Adam

When choosing a pair of sandals

You know, i’m really choosy when it comes to choosing a pair of sandals. Its like equivalent to choosing a boyfriend. It has to feel right and it has to be THE ONE i want. Therefore, the process of getting the right pair of sandals  can take months. I’ve got to really like it. If there is any slight doubt of whether it would look good on my feet, i will pass it. If i do buy it, i may end up not wearing it.

So shit, i need a new pair of sandals right now.

Tricked into, the loop

Posted in corazón y amor, quiero a mi familia on October 10, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

This is not the first time i’ve been tricked into taking long bus rides. Apparently, the bus guide shows that the destination is only 3-4 bus stops away. But, the ride somehow took almost an hour because the bus guide was inaccurate. The bus looped at somewhere, before reaching the desired stop. Can you imagine how torturing that can be to the butt? Really. Train rides are more direct.

A different tune, something different

Posted in alfabeto on October 8, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

I’m having sore throat from all those shouting in class. I’m feeling really tired. Now i understand when they say “Kids are quite a handful”. Took Primary 1 and 2 classes for two days. They are so hyperactive. Difficult at times to teach and make them do their work quietly. It is still manageable but tiring! You know, there will always be some who’d come up to complain about things like, “Teacher, he don’t want to friend me” or “Teacher, that boy push my table”. Sometimes, i’m left speechless. and there is one thing i  dread about being a teacher. Marking those pile of papers!! So tedious!

The primary school i went to this time was  great! Instead of the regular “kringgg!”, the sound of the bell was the tune of Aladdin’s “A whole new world”. Something different. and i cant help it but to sing along to the tune. haha.

No nonsense

Posted in alfabeto on October 5, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

Went for relief teaching duty today. I think i’m getting good at showing a stern and “dont give me any nonsense” face to the students. The last period of the day was science. When i entered the class, everyone was at their seats reading their story books. Then, a boy carried his chair and sat next to another friend. Obviously, he wanted to talk to his friend. I couldn’t allow him to. If i did, the rest would follow suit and its only a matter of time before everyone starts moving around to talk to their friends. I folded my arms, looked at him and asked, “Where do you think you are going? Get back to your desk now.” and he did as told.

Few minutes later, i had to scold a few boys sitting in front for making noises. Then, i saw this boy laying his head on the table. I thought he was secretly talking to his friend. So, i asked him to stand up. I think he didnt know i was referring to him. Then, i stood up and pointed at him. Everyone went, “Huh? Him? He is the class monitor. Prefect somemore.” Instantly, i felt embarrassed. Because, i thought that boy was talking. Actually, he wasn’t. He was quietly reading a book while laying his head on the table. I was wrong. and i couldn’t possibly say, “Oh, ok. Sit down now.” I let him stand for a few minute before asking him to sit down again. I felt guilty scolding a boy who didn’t do anything wrong.

Know what made my day? Another boy kept turning behind to say something to his friend. I made him stand. and when i asked him to sit down, he apologetically said “Sorry Teacher.” I felt, “Wow! That “dont give me any nonsense” look really worked” haha. I think i’m getting good at maintaining discipline in class.

Fulfilled

For the first time, we went Arnold’s for lunch. Boyfriend have been talking about Arnold’s chicken all week! Finally, he had his wish fulfilled.

After lunch, we dropped by Cold Storage supermarket. Jumping in excitement, i wanted to check if they were selling Caprisonne. And yes, they did have it! We wanted  grape. But they only had apple. I dont know about you, but this was our favourite childhood drink. Wah, fond memories!

Photobucket

In the evening, we went for a movie. Inglorious Basterds was hours long, but i loved it! After the movie, went for  supper because i was feeling darn hungry. Spent so much time with boyfriend this weekend. Now that i’m at home, i’m starting to miss him. Know what i miss the most? Hearing him snore in the middle of the night. The boy snores like baby dinosaur. How cute! haha.

But they only had apple :( Boyfriend and i love grape. This was our so-called childhood drink.

Went for relief teaching duty today. Primary 2 kids are so adorable! If you thought the older ones would behave better in class, think again! Actually, they are the ones making the most noise.  The younger ones, on the other hand, behave better. Whenever i see a Primary 6 class on my timetable, i know i’m going to have a headache. Not easy controlling a class of active kids and i always get home feeling  like as if  my energy had been fully drained out from my body. But, being in class is great. Sometimes, seeing how they behave can put a smile on my face. Kids are kids. and they always remind me of myself when i was once like them.

Woke up really early for Final-year project discussion in school. Yeah, but i was not that early. That’s because i overslept and i was late. The rest were earlier.

We had lunch in school. Then, got an impromptu invite for a photo shoot where we were told, “Feel like a model, Think like a model and yes, You are a model”. Went for movie after that and had a jolly good time.

Can you imagine, i spent the entire day watching Gossip Girl. From one episode to another. I’m unemployed and i’m a TV series addict. Right now, I’m elated. Because Gossip Girl had a great ending. They’re in love. I feel in love too. Talk about TV influence! haha.

Second day of Hari Raya. Cousin came for visiting today. I just realised something. My cousin have so many kids till i’ve lost track of their names. I asked my sister and she dont know too. Was wondering, if i happen to have so many kids in the future, would anyone lost track too?

Anyway, i was sick of eating sambal goreng and lontong. Been eating those for 3 days! So, met boyfriend for dinner at Sakura :)

First day of Hari Raya. Visited cousin’s place in the afternoon and had my aunt and cousins at my place in the evening. We played with sparklers and constantly stuffed ourselves with food.

Hari raya always remind me of grandpa and uncle. Those times spent celebrating the joyous occasion with them. They are not around anymore but i feel thankful that i still have the rest of my loved ones with me. Hari Raya is always great with family :)

So welcoming.

Posted in corazón y amor on September 20, 2009 by Nina Lareina Adam

Just got home from the Geylang Bazaar. Everyone is asleep. I’m wide awake. What a way to start off my Hari Raya morning… I just saw pervert masturbate in front of me. I was  searching for my keys outside the door when i saw him appear from nowhere. His hand was holding his weeny & he started shaking it. I couldn’t find my keys! I shouted for grandma and asked her for the keys. Grandma came but she was walking really slow. As soon as i stepped into the house, i slammed the door real hard so that he could hear how angry i was.

ARGH! Didn’t know Hari Raya could be so welcoming in such a way!

Forget about all that. Move on to how i spent the last day of the fasting month, shall we?  Did cleaning the entire afternoon. Met boyfriend in the evening and used up our energy carrying cartons of carbonated drinks. Delivered them to my house before we made our way to the Geylang Bazaar.

At the last minute, Zac called and wanted to join us for late dinner. One similar thing all of us look forward to: EAT GOOD FOOD! Met up with him for a meal at Geylang Serai Market and Food Centre.

Photobucket

Walked around in search curtains. All those walking lasted till almost 4:00 AM and it made us hungry. Bought food and rested our feet before we parted ways. Took the cab  home with boyfriend. He dropped me off at my block. I met the pervert after that.

Before i head on to sleep, shall wish everyone

SELAMAT HARI RAYA

Have a jolly good time tomorrow!

I’m going to get dirty tomorrow!

Please remind me how tiring it can get to clean a wrecked room so that i wont try to mess  it up again!

I’m tired and sleepy. I got home in the late morning at 5:00 AM today. Wish i could have a good sleep but i had to wake up few hours later for PEC course at PAP HQ. Guess what? I just learnt that our MM Lee’s birthday is on 16th September. I was so excited that i learnt something new. I told Terence and he said, “I know” I was like, “HUH! You know MM Lee’s birthday is on 16th September? I just found out today” and he said, “I know because my mum told me

How come my mum didn’t tell me? Because she didn’t know too! So, i announced to the whole house that MM Lee’s birthday is on 16th September. So, now we know. They showed MM Lee’s 80th birthday video presentation. Looking at how he shaped Singapore, i must say, we should be thankful with the progress we’ve made throughout the years.

Left the PAP HQ in the evening. Met Terence for dinner. I was craving for Nasi Padang and so i had Ayam Cilipadi!!! Love it!

Photobucket

Terence always order sambal goreng!
Photobucket

After dinner, met Liyanah and Wei Lie. Walked around the bazaar. It was super packed with people! I didn’t sweat as much as last year because this year i was smart enough to bring along my paper fan. Anyway, i wasn’t the only one doing that. Many others were seen with paper fans too. Now, i’m thinking if a small portable battery operated fan would have been better. haha.

Liyanah did her hands.

I cant wait to return to the bazaar on the eve of Hari Raya. Boyfriend and i do this every year! We’ll go to the supermarket together to get cartons of bottled carbonated drink. Carry them home, and head down to the bazaar. Eat good food and return back late in the morning. Its like tradition :)

I love the Hari Raya spirit.

I love it whenever both of us have the same thought on things at the same time! Today, i feel like eating pizza. Boyfriend called and said, “Let’s eat at Pizza Hut.” And i went, “Hey! I was thinking about it too!

Photobucket

We can never get enough of Hawaiian pizza.

Photobucket

After the dinner, we went for a movie. There’s this local film production called “Blood Ties“. You’ve got to watch it!

Photobucket

The film is rated M18 for there is blood, gunshots and penis cutting scenes with a knife.  Not bad!  Oh, there’s also a scene where the gun was pointed and shot at a guy’s penis.  He deserved it.

We’re going to the Geylang Serai Bazaar tomorrow. I’m glad boyfriend finds it exciting to be there! Today he said, “I know what you want to eat. Kueh Nagasari, Cempedak goreng and Air khatirah. We’ll get them tomorrow

I was suprised.

He remembered :)
